It is likely that if we have arrived to Manglares de Vice on the previous afternoon after our Pelagic on the 4 day Tumbes program that we really have not had much time to explore the area fully. Therefore we shall return again in the morning.  Apart from the target species Pervian Tern the area is great for a number of shorebirds, gulls and terns. Then we drive to Chiclayo making selected stops en route, possibly also with a visit at the famous Sipan Museum if there is a wish for some cultural experiences (highly recommended) to finish the afternoon at Puerto Eten. Shorebirds include in season Willet, Black-necked Stilt, Wilson’s Phalarope, Whimbrel, Lesser Yellowlegs, Killdeer, American Golden Plover, Semi-palmated Sandpiper, Sanderling, Spotted Sandpiper, Ruddy Turnstone, Semi-palmated Plover, Least Sandpiper and Baird’s Sandpiper.  It is also quite easy to find the coastal subspecies of Yellowish Pipit.  In the fields Short-tailed Field-Tyrant, Peruvian Thickknee, Least Seedsnipe and Tawny-throated Dotterel are possible.
