Marvelous Spatuletail Loddigesia mirabilis
Currently male Marvellous Spatuletail can be seen at feeders at three sites.
- Above Leimebamba Museum
- Huembo interpretation center near Pomacochas.
- The "Kolibri Reserve" owned and managed by Santos Montenegro (funded by Kolibri Expeditions).

Absolutely marvelous and spectacular. I haven't seen any of them at my feeders
Maybe because they are endemic to Peru and an endangered species?

Thanks for the comments everyone. Yes, I have seen it several times. In fact we raised some money from Kolibri clients and supporters, so one of the locals in the area - Santos Montenegro - could buy some land that have these beauties displaying. In spite of being so conspicious they can be remarkably difficult to photograph.
Alejandro did a very good job here. Going up North next week. I think there are some vacancies - hehe!
More seriously, there is a trip in February that could take some more people. The January trips are full, I am afraid.
