Cool post Gunnar,

I'm a pretty busy guy, but get in touch with birders sounds just like the kind of fun I'm looking for...

As a bird-photographer from Costa Rica in Thailand, I have lots to share and learn and you are such a great help!

I don't even have a blog yet, but you're opening my eyes towards it and getting to know more birders and share with them is my main goal now... after all, I even have a birders forum growing on (www.birdphotoforum.com) to share and learn and would mean a lot to me if you could have a look and let me know what you think...

I'd told loads of people about your workshop and even when language may be a problem for many of them (Thais and Costa Ricans), it might attract some interesting people in the end... we'll see...

Thanks again and best regards,

Alex
http://www.birdphotoforum.com
http://www.pbase.com/alex_vargas

Mymm

Don´t think so. But there is BirdingPal http://www.birdingpal.org/ of course. This is more of helping out birders on a visit. Both pros and aficionados are listed. Although, lodging is not part of the deal, some birdingpals can usually let you know the more inexpensive ways of lodging and in some cases even invite you to overnight. Don´t take it for granted though.

I am in talks with Knud Rasmussen to set up BirdingPal for Facebook. If all goes well in a week or so.

Does Facebook feature a hospitality exchange listing for travelling birders who'd like to stay over a night or two with other birders while in an area? I need a couple nemesis birds to the east and while I do belong to Evergreen (a hospitality exchange for travelling people over 50 that only costs $10 a night without meals, etc.) I'd LOVE to find one just for birders! This is the first time I've ever been on Facebook. Would greatly appreciate any info you could give me. Thanks! Mymm Ackley
