Hey Gunnar,

100% agreed on the subject of your pretty interesting post and very impressive results with a point and shot by Ms Basset...

Tomorrow (day off for me) will contact some Thai birders that might be interested on the workshop... Language can be a setback but some of this fellows can do and speak english quite well... we'll see...

Alex

Alex. There are lots of older birders who think that there is hardly
no recruitment of young birders, but I think they have the wrong
strategy. They are to focused on binoculars and notepads, rather than
24x point and shoot cameras and social media. Eventually, all will get
bins and books, but it is not what gets them started.

http://www.kolibriexpeditions.com/birdingperu/b...

It would be great if some young Asian birders would take part in the
workshop. I am sure they could teach us something.

IMHO, birding is growing amazingly amongst young people and -for example- in Thailand, you see complete vans with juvies holding bins and book...

Could be interesting to see what happens if included...

Alex

My Space seems to mostly house music groups and teenagers. I think its value for birders would be extremely limited. What do others think?
